Staff Tax Accountant | Cascade CPA

• Mission: Owns the preparation of individual and business tax returns, assists with tax planning and compliance, and supports the Tax department during busy season.
• Tech Stack: Comfortable learning new accounting and tax technology.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Return Preparation: Prepare federal and state individual income tax returns, and assist with the preparation of business tax returns including partnerships, S corporations, and corporations.
• Compliance and Planning: Prepare workpapers, assist with tax estimates, extensions, and tax planning calculations, and respond to basic federal and state tax notices.
• Client Communication: Gather necessary information for engagements and communicate professionally with clients regarding questions and outstanding details.
• Professional Development: Participate in firm training and continuing professional education, learn from review comments, and actively seek to develop technical knowledge and professional judgment.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with senior accountants, managers, and partners, asking thoughtful questions and providing timely updates on assigned work.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; this is an entry-level position.
• Experience: 0–2 years of accounting or tax experience.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Bonus: Accounting coursework necessary to pursue CPA or EA eligibility is preferred; previous public accounting or tax internship experience is a plus.
