The Tone:
This is an in-person, early career leadership development program at A. Duie Pyle, Inc., the Northeast’s premier transportation and logistics provider. Since 1924, A. Duie Pyle has upheld a “Service First” mentality, consistently exceeding customer and employee expectations across all job-related responsibilities. This structured 24-week program is foundational, aiming to cultivate the next generation of Pyle leaders by immersing participants in the company’s extensive operations and fostering a strong understanding of the transportation industry. It represents a significant commitment to developing future leadership talent within the organization.

The TL;DR
• Role: Early Career / Leadership Development
• Type: Full-time
• Location: In-person, multiple locations within the Pyle network (initial placement at closest terminal, relocation required upon completion)

• Mission: To prepare and develop future leaders with a comprehensive understanding of the transportation industry and A. Duie Pyle’s business operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operational Immersion: Gain valuable hands-on experience by working various shifts on the freight dock and riding along in trucks to learn about freight handling and the less-than-truckload (LTL) business.
• Business Understanding: Learn about the diverse areas of the business, including operations, project implementation, brokerage, and finance, to develop a strong understanding of the transportation industry.
• Leadership Development: Develop essential leadership skills by shadowing current Pyle leaders, engaging in project assignments, and participating in formal training sessions.
• Industry Knowledge: Acquire deep company and industry knowledge through structured classroom style learning and by building professional relationships with senior leadership at the corporate office.
• Team Impact: Understand the critical role of teamwork by learning how all team members and their respective roles contribute to the overall operational success.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level individual with a High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in any major is preferred.
• Experience: Demonstrated prior work experience, including part-time work, internships, or co-ops, in any field; experience in supply chain, logistics, or transportation is a plus.
• Skills:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform effectively in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated willingness to relocate within the Pyle network upon program completion.
• A positive and proactive attitude.
• Bonus:
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in any major.
• Prior work experience in a supply chain, logistics, or transportation field.
