• Mission: To equip an Associate Surety Underwriter with the technical, analytical, and relationship management skills necessary to evaluate businesses’ financial health and operational capabilities, enabling informed underwriting decisions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Participate in a 12-month development program designed to build essential technical, analytical, and business skills for a successful underwriting career.
• Learn how surety bonds facilitate economic growth, commercial development, and infrastructure projects, helping businesses meet contractual commitments.
• Evaluate the financial strength, creditworthiness, and operational capabilities of businesses to make informed underwriting decisions.
• Gain hands-on experience by analyzing financial statements, assessing credit and project risk, and evaluating contracts.
• Build and foster relationships with agents, brokers, customers, and industry partners while developing communication, business development, and negotiation skills.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a comparable field, with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, including finance and accounting coursework with an understanding of financial statements and fundamental financial analysis.
• Experience: 0-2 years of professional experience.
• Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, negotiation, and decision-making abilities; outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills focused on relationship fostering; ability to think globally and adapt to diverse cultures and communication styles.
• Bonus: Prior internship experience, especially within a finance-related environment, is a plus, along with a willingness to relocate upon completion of the program.
