Staff Accountant | Cash-Wa Distributing
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Cash-Wa Distributing, located in Fargo, ND. Cash-Wa Distributing, a Performance Food Group (PFG) company, is a leading foodservice distributor serving customers throughout the Midwest. As the business continues to grow, this newly added Staff Accountant I position strengthens the Finance team, supporting the Fargo operation. It offers a recent graduate or early-career accounting professional a chance to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the ongoing success of a growing organization.

• Team: Reports directly to the Director of Finance
• Mission: This person will support the accounting operations of the Fargo division, contributing to financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, ERP or accounting software systems
What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Assist with month-end close activities and financial statement preparation to support accurate financial information.
• Account Management: Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end analyses to maintain financial integrity.
• Data Reconciliation: Reconcile processed transactions by verifying entries and comparing system reports to account balances.
• Process Improvement: Support the development and improvement of accounting processes, workflows, and efficiencies.
• Operational Support: Partner with operations and other departments to support accounting and financial objectives.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. This is an early-career role.
• Experience: Internship, accounting clerk, bookkeeping, or related accounting experience is preferred.
• Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency including formulas, lookups, and pivot tables; robust analytical and problem-solving abilities; excellent attention to detail and accuracy; strong organizational and time-management skills; professional and effective communication.
• Bonus: Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); experience with ERP or accounting software systems; interest in pursuing professional certifications.
