Staff Accountant I | Regal Rexnord

The Tone:

As part of the Thomson Power Systems (TPS) division, a leading manufacturer for the power generation industry, this Staff Accountant I role is vital for ensuring accurate, compliant, and meaningful financial records. This hands-on position offers exposure to the full accounting cycle and manufacturing experience, allowing the individual to learn from experienced mentors and see the tangible results of their contributions within a growing team.

• Mission: Ensures financial records are accurate, compliant, and meaningful for the Thomson Power Systems (TPS) division.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar accounting software

What You’ll Actually Do
• Journal Entries: Prepare and post accurate journal entries, ensuring compliance with GAAP, across various accounts including payroll, fixed assets, travel and entertainment, and other operating expenses.
• Account Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations of bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts.
• Month-End & Year-End Close: Assist with comprehensive month-end and year-end close processes, including managing accruals and adjustments.
• Financial Reporting: Help prepare essential financial statements, management reports, and audit schedules under the guidance of senior finance personnel.
• Data Collaboration & Analysis: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, resolve discrepancies, and analyze financial data to identify trends and potential issues.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a solid understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP.
• Experience: 0-3 years of accounting experience, which includes internships and part-time roles.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, strong attention to detail, organizational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Bonus: Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar systems.
