The Tone:

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy Development: Develop and execute sourcing strategies for key categories to reduce cost, improve service, and mitigate risk.
• Risk Mitigation Leadership: Lead the Country-of-Origin (COO) and Rare-Earth-Element (REE) initiative, partnering with functional leaders to design and implement scalable risk assessment and mitigation processes.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Build and manage strategic supplier relationships to drive performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Partner with internal stakeholders including Operations, Finance, Quality, Engineering, and Legal to align sourcing strategies with business requirements and priorities.
• Value Creation: Drive cost-reduction, value-engineering, and design for supply chain initiatives while identifying and mitigating supply, geopolitical, quality, and financial risks within the supply base.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of related experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain, procurement, or supplier management.
• Experience: Conducting spend analysis, market research, or supplier assessments. Experience working in a matrixed or decentralized environment.
• Skills: Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence without direct authority. Ability to manage multiple strategic projects simultaneously. Strong understanding of supply-chain risk, total cost of ownership, and supplier performance management.
• Bonus: Experience in a federal contracting or compliance-driven environment (e.g., FAR/DFARS familiarity). Experience with COO, REE, or other material-criticality risk assessments. Familiarity with category management, market trend analysis/strategies, and supplier-development approaches. Ability to interpret technical requirements and collaborate closely with Engineering and Operations.
