Audit Intern – Spring 2027 | Carr, Riggs & Ingram

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person Melbourne, FL
• Mission: This person will perform substantive auditing procedures, document tests, identify control deficiencies, and ensure consistent application of accounting principles.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Procedures: Perform substantive auditing procedures in assigned areas.
• Understanding: Obtain an understanding of the work to be performed and the purpose of the work.
• Documentation: Prepare working papers which adequately document the tests performed and procedures followed to substantiate conclusions reached.
• Application: Be alert to the proper and consistent application of accounting principles in performing audit procedures.
• Reporting: Identify and document control deficiencies or other matters that warrant the attention of management.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be enrolled as a student in an accredited college or university with a major in accounting.
• Experience: Familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Skills: Demonstrated written and oral communication skills; Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team; Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others; High degree of discretion dealing with confidential information.
