Staff Accountant, Property | Brixmor Property Group

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Brixmor Property Group, located in Conshohocken, PA, with a hybrid work schedule. Brixmor is a company that manages and optimizes the performance of property assets. This role is essential for ensuring accurate financial information is prepared, which directly supports internal customers in meeting retailer and investor expectations. By providing timely and precise data, this position helps optimize returns for investors and maintains strong internal reporting procedures with a commercial approach.

• Mission: Assist in the preparation of accurate accounting information for property assets to optimize returns for investors and meet internal and external customer expectations.
• Tech Stack: Detailed spreadsheet expertise, Mainframe computer literacy

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Function: Manage the accounting function for all assigned properties, including profit and loss statement preparation, property recovery calculations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Financial Reporting: Compile financial information and commentary for monthly management reports and any additional reports required under management agreements or executive requests.
• Income & Recovery: Prepare Net Operating Income worksheets and annual recovery reconciliation work papers for assigned properties, including calculating annual escrow increases and budget recovery expense per sq ft.
• Budget & Forecast: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and property forecasts, ensuring accuracy of calculations and completeness of documents for meaningful variance reporting.
• Tenant Relations: Act as a primary liaison with retailers regarding Common Area Maintenance issues and disputes, coordinate and resolve tenant audits, and perform monthly percentage rent reconciliations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Entry-level career.
• Experience: 0+ years of experience; Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Skills: Detailed spreadsheet expertise, strong oral and written communication skills, sound time and project management skills, attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture, and problem-solving through clear lateral thinking.
