Summer 2027 Internship – Accounting | Ally

The Tone:
This is a temporary internship at Ally, located in Detroit, MI with a hybrid work schedule. What You’ll Actually Do
• Business & Enterprise Accounting: Support accounting and reporting activities for Ally’s business lines and enterprise functions.
• Financial Operations: Assist with account analysis, reconciliations, month-end, and quarter-end close activities.
• Tax Planning & Reporting: Contribute to preparing tax provisions, supporting forecasting, and assisting with tax return efforts and research.
• Financial Controls: Assist with testing and monitoring internal controls, supporting documentation, and identifying process improvements.
• Regulatory Reporting: Support the preparation of reports filed with the SEC, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q, and assist with regulatory and industry reporting requirements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (entering senior or junior year) or a Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience: Must be graduating between December 2027 and May 2029, and authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• Skills: Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with an interest in obtaining CPA licensure.
• Bonus: Previous accounting internship, project experience, or coursework demonstrating accounting knowledge; leadership experience through student organizations, athletics, or community involvement.
