The Tone:
This is a full-time, early career role with U.S. Bank, requiring a hybrid work schedule from a U.S. Bank location three or more days per week. This position is crucial for launching an accounting career, providing practical experience in core financial operations. You will contribute directly to maintaining financial integrity, supporting essential general ledger activities, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for various stakeholders.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations: Maintain adequate accounting and control for various accounting functions within the organization.
• Reconciliation: Maintain and reconcile general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial statements and reports for internal and external audiences.
• System Management: Maintain and develop automated accounting systems, controls, and procedures for enhanced efficiency.
• Regulatory Compliance: Prepare and develop specialized reports for management and various regulatory authorities.
• Communication: Respond to inquiries regarding accounting policies, procedures, and issues from management, external auditors, and regulatory authorities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience. Career level: Early Career.
• Experience: Two to three years of experience in financial accounting activities.
• Skills: Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulations; thorough knowledge of accounting, reporting, and analysis; ability to identify and resolve exceptions and analyze data.
• Bonus: Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications.
