Staff Associate, Assurance | Wiss

The Staff Associate, Assurance role is a vital component of the Assurance Department, directly contributing to ensuring clients’ financial information is accurate, reliable, and compliant. • Team: Assurance Department. Reporting to the Practice Area Manager and into the Practice Area Leader.
• Mission: Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of client financial information.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office programs, QuickBooks (plus)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Review: Review client financial statements and all supporting documentation to verify accuracy and completeness.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that financial information and client practices comply with established accounting principles and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Documentation Preparation: Prepare clear, comprehensive documentation for both internal team review and client understanding.
• Client System Analysis: Acquire a thorough working knowledge of clients’ businesses and accounting systems to identify potential risks and customize auditing approaches effectively.
• Audit Execution: Conduct client audits, compilations, and reviews, ensuring all work adheres to firm standards and methodologies.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Proactively interact with clients and internal staff to gather necessary information, clarify details, and efficiently resolve any issues that arise.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate or Graduate degree in accounting, finance, or another business-related field. This is an entry-level position.
• Experience: No specific years of experience required.
• Skills: General understanding of Microsoft Office programs; excellent verbal and written communication skills; effective problem-solving and analytical abilities; strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Bonus: Internship experience in the public accounting industry; working knowledge of QuickBooks.
