2027 Leadership Fellow Program | The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey

The Tone:
This is a full-time, permanent role at The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, with a hybrid work model primarily based in New York, NY. The Port Authority builds, operates, and maintains critical transportation and trade infrastructure assets, including airports, bridges, tunnels, and seaports, supporting hundreds of thousands of regional jobs and billions in economic activity. This Leadership Fellow Program is designed to prepare future leaders by providing broad exposure to the agency’s structure, goals, and strategic direction through structured rotational assignments. Fellows actively contribute to departmental initiatives, gaining critical experience for future leadership roles within the agency.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Leadership: Lead or support short-term and long-term projects within each of the four rotational assignments.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams to develop solutions, deliver outcomes, and track progress on initiatives.
• Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data to support strategic initiatives and inform decision-making.
• Communication & Presentation: Deliver presentations and provide updates to leadership, managers, and stakeholders throughout the program.
• Operational Improvement: Identify operational or strategic challenges and contribute creative ideas for improvement across different business functions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Master’s Degree. Entry-Level. Students receiving a graduate degree between December 2026 and June 2027.
• Experience: One year of work experience, including internships, in public service, transportation, or government.
• Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, quantitative, and interpersonal skills; strong written and oral communication; strong customer service.
• Bonus: Passion for public service; openness to rotating through different business functions; interest in public transportation; political acumen.
