Intern, Global Accounting – Wine & Spirits | Constellation Brands

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Constellation Brands, located in a hybrid environment in Rochester, NY. Constellation Brands is a leading beverage alcohol company known for its global portfolio of wine and spirits brands. In this role, you will be crucial in supporting the Global Accounting team, gaining hands-on experience through organized project work and the month-end close process, contributing to accurate financial reporting and analysis.

• Team: Global Accounting team, collaborating with TAaC, Fixed Assets, and FP&A; reports to a member of the Global Accounting team.
• Mission: Support the Global Accounting team by completing assignments that contribute to accurate financial reporting, analysis, and month-end close processes.
• Tech Stack: SAP, OneStream, Microsoft Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Journal Entry Preparation: Draft journal entries in SAP and OneStream, ensuring appropriate supporting documentation is included.
• Intercompany Transactions: Analyze intercompany transactions and assist in the preparation of corresponding journal entries.
• Reconciliations: Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis.
• Financial Statement Trends: Analyze monthly financial reports, comparing historical and current month activity to provide explanations for fluctuations.
• Ad-hoc Projects: Provide support to the Global Accounting team on various projects as they arise.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be currently enrolled in an Accounting Bachelor or Graduate degree program, with a preference for undergraduate students entering their senior year. A strong understanding of basic accounting and finance concepts, including U.S. GAAP, is required.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are required, but candidates must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, along with being detail-oriented and possessing excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also required.
