Associate/AVP, Relationship Manager for Japanese Corporate Banking | Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group

• Mission: Promote MUFG financial products and services to Japanese Corporate clients and support the department’s revenue goals.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Relationship Development: Actively promote and cross-sell a comprehensive range of MUFG products and services tailored to the needs of various Japanese Corporate clients.
• Revenue Generation Support: Support the Department Head directly in the delivery of relevant banking services to customers, playing a key role in achieving the department’s defined revenue targets.
• End-to-End Solution Provision: Take responsibility for identifying, structuring, offering, and processing diverse banking solutions, including but not limited to Cash Management, Derivatives, Forward contracts, Trade Finance (“TF”), Lending, and Funding.
• Deal Finalization and Negotiation: Conduct negotiations with customers on critical matters such as contract terms and conditions, and pricing, consistently seeking and applying commercial solutions to finalize deals efficiently.
• Transaction Monitoring and Execution: Support in the daily monitoring of transactions, ensuring all financial transactions are executed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Financial Assessment and Credit Proposals: Carry out detailed financial modeling on customers and their business operations to robustly support deal proposals, and prepare comprehensive credit applications that align pricing, product offerings, and deal structuring with business strategy, high service quality, and risk mitigation.
• Due Diligence and Compliance Assurance: Conduct thorough due diligence, encompassing Know-Your-Customer (“KYC”), commercial viability, creditworthiness, compliance with regulations, operational feasibility, and legal aspects for all potential transactions or prospective clients.
• Collaborative Target Achievement: Collaborate effectively with other members of the department to ensure that overarching profit targets are met through concerted effort and shared strategic goals.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, marketing, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the relevant industry.
• Skills: Good command of English, strong knowledge of macro and microeconomics, and good communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Bonus: Japanese language ability.
