Financial Accounting Intern | Arconic

The Tone:
This is an internship at Arconic, located in Pittsburgh, PA. Arconic Corporation is a leading provider of aluminum sheet, plate, and extrusions, as well as innovative architectural products, that advance the automotive, aerospace, commercial transportation, industrial, and building and construction markets. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person Pittsburgh, PA
• Team: Corporate Financial Accounting team, collaborating with personnel across Business Units and Resource Units.
• Mission: To introduce students to the monthly closing process, review of financial statements, financial policy review and approvals, and accounting reviews of specific transactions.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, MS Office environments

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist with external financial filings: Contribute to the preparation and review of documents required for external reporting.
• Analyze financial results: Review monthly financial results and summarize key findings for senior management review.
• Prepare ad hoc analysis: Create specific analyses as needed to support various Corporate Financial Accounting projects.
• Maintain policy manual: Oversee, maintain, and update the Arconic accounting policy manual used by financial and nonfinancial personnel.
• Manage relationships: Foster ongoing relationships with personnel in different Business Units and Resource Units.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level position for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration/Management from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Expected graduation date in Fall 2027 or Spring/Summer of 2028; cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office applications; strong analytical and team skills; effective communication abilities.
