Accounting Intern | The Ridge Hotel Lake Geneva
The Tone:
This is an internship or management trainee opportunity at The Ridge Hotel Lake Geneva, located in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The company is Destination Geneva National, a resort operation with golf, dining, lodging, and extensive event facilities. This role provides hands-on experience in hospitality accounting, focusing on the event revenue cycle. The individual will be directly involved in taking an event from final charges through invoicing and collection, contributing to the financial accuracy and client satisfaction of a busy resort.

• Mission: Ensure accurate and timely billing and collection for all group events, supporting the resort’s financial operations and guest experience.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Invoicing: Prepare and distribute accurate, timely invoices for corporate events, weddings, golf outings, banquets, and other group business.
• Verification: Review event charges and supporting documentation to ensure billing is complete and accurate against contracts and orders.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Work closely with various operational teams to research and resolve any billing discrepancies.
• Client Communication: Communicate professionally with clients regarding invoices, outstanding balances, billing questions, and payment status.
• Collections & Record-keeping: Follow up on outstanding receivables, assist with collecting past-due accounts, and maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Current student or recent graduate with a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• Experience: No previous accounting experience is required; relevant coursework and a strong desire to learn are important.
• Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication, numerical accuracy, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Bonus: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook. Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, office, or administrative roles is a plus.
