Corporate Vice President, Data Analytics & Insights | New York Life Insurance Company

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at New York Life Insurance Company, located in New York, NY (Hybrid). This Corporate Vice President role is crucial for leading data-driven initiatives and providing actionable insights that support strategic business decisions, improve business performance, optimize operations, and identify growth opportunities within the Service Experience Value Stream. The individual will help establish a more data-centric operating model by leveraging analytics, business intelligence, and advanced statistical methodologies.

• Pay: $119000–$170000 yearly
• Team: Reports to the Digital Services leader within the Service Experience Value Stream.
• Mission: Lead data-driven initiatives and provide actionable insights to support strategic business decisions, improve business performance, optimize operations, and identify growth opportunities within the Service Experience Value Stream.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic Analytics Leadership: Champion and socialize insights and recommendations informed by analytics to drive sustainable business value and enterprise-wide opportunities.
• Data Analysis & Insights: Lead the design and execution of quantitative and qualitative analyses to solve complex business challenges and deliver meaningful insights.
• Business Partnership & Execution: Collaborate with COO organization, Service Operations leaders, Product Managers, and Technology partners to establish and manage ongoing business objectives and key results (OKRs).
• Project Leadership: Lead multiple high-priority analytics initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality deliverables.
• Data Ecosystem Collaboration: Partner with Technology teams to understand New York Life’s data ecosystem and determine optimal approaches for data access, governance, and utilization.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline, seeking a senior data analytics and insights professional.
• Experience: 7+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, data science, data engineering, or related fields, with 3+ years of people leadership and/or team management experience. Demonstrated experience analyzing large and complex data sets to solve business problems and drive measurable outcomes.
• Skills: Strong expertise in data analysis and statistical modeling techniques including Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Generalized Linear Models (GLM), Survival Analysis, Decision Trees, Cluster Analysis, Principal Components Analysis, Feature Engineering, and Model Validation. Proficient with advanced analytics tools and programming languages such as SQL, Databricks, Python, AWS Redshift, R, and Spark, along with experience developing dashboards and visualizations using Tableau, R Shiny, Power BI, or Spotfire. Strong ability to synthesize information, develop insights, and communicate recommendations clearly through presentations, reports, and executive-level communications.
• Bonus: Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline. Experience applying advanced analytics within the life insurance, financial services, or broader insurance industry. Knowledge of life insurance products, operations, and customer experience processes. Experience with predictive analytics and machine learning solutions in large enterprise environments. Experience using GitHub and modern data development practices. Demonstrated success influencing senior leadership and driving enterprise-wide adoption of data-driven decision making with a strong executive presence.
