Winter 2027 Tax or Audit Internship | Baker Tilly US

The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid internship at Baker Tilly US, with specific office expectations varying by location and service line. Baker Tilly is a leading advisory, tax and assurance firm, recognized as a top 10 firm, providing clients with comprehensive services across major U.S. regions and globally. • Pay: $25.00–$109.25 hourly
• Mission: To support audit or tax engagements by assisting with procedures, analyzing information, documenting findings, and conducting research to meet client and firm needs.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook), firm-approved audit, data analysis, workflow, collaboration, tax preparation, research, and document management technologies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Collaborate: Obtain information and maintain well-supported documentation by working closely with engagement team members and clients.
• Execute: Complete assigned work accurately and on time, promptly communicating progress, questions, and any potential issues that may arise.
• Support: Assist with assigned audit procedures, including testing account balances and financial information, or prepare federal, state, and local tax returns, workpapers, and calculations.
• Document: Prepare clear workpapers documenting procedures, evidence, results, and conclusions in accordance with firm methodologies and professional standards.
• Develop: Apply coaching and feedback to strengthen technical accounting knowledge and work quality while building an understanding of clients’ businesses, industries, and assurance or tax needs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in or pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business discipline from an accredited institution, with at least one academic term remaining following the internship, and on track to meet educational requirements for CPA exam eligibility prior to a full-time Associate position.
• Experience: No prior professional experience is required.
• Skills: Foundational accounting knowledge developed through academic coursework; ability to conduct basic research, analyze information, and document findings clearly and accurately; openness to learning emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Bonus: Previous internship, academic, leadership, volunteer, customer service, or other relevant experience, and demonstrated interest in accounting or professional services are preferred.
