Upstate New York Spring 2027 & Summer 2027 Accounting Internship | The Bonadio Group

The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at The Bonadio Group, located in Upstate New York across multiple offices including Albany, Buffalo, East Aurora, Rochester, and Syracuse. The Bonadio Group is a leading accounting firm dedicated to providing comprehensive financial services to a diverse client base. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Part-time (Spring: 20–25 hours/week, Summer: 36 hours/week)
• Location: In-person Upstate New York (Albany, Buffalo, East Aurora (Spring Only), Rochester, and Syracuse)
• Pay: $22 hourly
• Mission: To provide students with practical experience and mentorship in public accounting while supporting client service and developing technical skills.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office applications

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Assist with the preparation of individual, small business, and corporate tax returns, alongside tax research and planning projects.
• Support: Perform bookkeeping and accounting functions, including financial statement compilations and review for small business clients.
• Engage: Contribute to audit and assurance engagements, which may involve specialized projects, Form 990 preparation, and Employee Benefit Plan engagements.
• Analyze: Examine and analyze financial information and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate: Work alongside experienced accounting professionals to deliver client service and develop technical accounting knowledge.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Active enrollment in an accredited bachelor’s or master’s in accounting program, with coursework supporting progress toward CPA eligibility.
• Experience: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational and analytical abilities, and a commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
