The Tone:
This is an internship at RÖDL USA, with opportunities across numerous US locations including Atlanta, Birmingham, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Detroit, Denver, Greenville, Houston, Manhattan, and Philadelphia. RÖDL USA is a leading accounting, auditing, tax, and business consulting firm, serving primarily German-speaking and other European family-owned midsized businesses operating as US subsidiaries. This role provides practical experience and insights into international auditing, accounting, and tax consulting, playing a vital part in supporting a diverse and global client base.
The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Temporary (6-month commitment)
• Location: In-person – US offices (Atlanta, Birmingham, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Detroit, Denver, Greenville, Houston, Manhattan, Philadelphia)
• Pay: $20–$32 hourly (for Chicago, Denver, and Manhattan metropolitan areas; exact compensation varies by location)
• Mission: Provide practical experience and support in international auditing, accounting, and tax consulting for US subsidiaries of foreign-owned companies.
• Tech Stack: ProSystems Engagement, Microsoft Excel
What You’ll Actually Do
• Gain practical experience in various areas of US and German auditing and tax consulting.
• Receive comprehensive training in tools such as ProSystems Engagement and Microsoft Excel, as well as specific tasks like bank reconciliations, cash audits, and tax estimates.
• Collaborate within an interdisciplinary and high-performing team on demanding projects in an international business environment.
• Contribute to accounting, auditing, and tax projects specifically designed for US subsidiaries of foreign-owned companies.
• Support the preparation of crucial financial tasks, including bank reconciliations, cash audits, and tax estimations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level with at least three semesters of economics studies, concentrating on (international) accounting, auditing, and/or taxes.
• Experience: First theoretical and/or practical experience in accounting and/or taxes is required.
• Skills: Fluent knowledge of German and English (both written and spoken), strong self-initiative and independent working methods, and good analytical abilities.
• Bonus: Prior internships abroad and additional qualifications are considered advantageous.
