Workforce Absence Operations Manager | Sedgwick

• Team: Manages a team of less than 25 colleagues
• Mission: Ensures the effective and compliant operation of workforce absence services, delivering consistent quality and managing team performance and financial objectives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Quality Oversight: Oversee the internal quality review process and provide monthly reports on findings.
• Compliance Assurance: Ensure strict adherence to client internal controls, audit requirements, and all service agreement stipulations.
• Strategic Planning: Establish comprehensive business plans complete with goals and objectives for assigned clients.
• Policy Enforcement: Ensure that claims management policies and procedures are consistently followed to meet service standards, state statutes, disability plan documents, industry best practices, and client service requirements.
• Personnel Management: Administer company personnel policies, including interviewing, hiring, establishing performance development plans, conducting performance discussions, and providing support and motivation to colleagues.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Managerial level with core domain knowledge in claims management.
• Experience: Eight (8) years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including two (2) years in a supervisory role.
• Skills: Excellent oral and written communication, strong leadership and motivational abilities, analytical and interpretive skills, excellent organizational capabilities, and strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, required licenses, and professional certifications appropriate to the line of business.
