Risk Management Development Program 2027 | Citizens

The Tone:
This is a full-time, two-year development program at Citizens Bank, a large financial institution. The program aims to cultivate the next generation of leaders within the Corporate Risk Division, providing a unique opportunity to jumpstart careers. Participants will gain foundational financial, credit, risk, and statistical analysis skills through a blend of training and hands-on projects. This role is critical for ensuring the safety and soundness of the bank by developing future risk leaders.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Rotate: Complete four 6-month rotations within Credit Risk, Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk, Compliance, and Risk Modeling functional areas.
• Develop: Accelerate foundational financial, credit, risk, and statistical analysis skills through classes, self-study, and on-the-job training.
• Collaborate: Partner with your RMDP cohort on a Capstone project, investigating a relevant topic to the Bank.
• Present: Utilize honed skills to build and deliver a captivating presentation of your Capstone findings to the Risk senior leadership team.
• Participate: Engage concurrently in Early Career Development Programming, including professional workshops and networking opportunities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant major that demonstrates critical thinking skills such as Finance, Economics, Accounting, Decision Sciences, Risk Management, History, or Philosophy.
• Experience: Expected graduation date of May 2027, with an internship or other relevant corporate exposure in the financial services industry preferred.
• Skills: Analytical and critical thinking, data analysis, communication, project management, and a strategic mindset.
• Bonus: Minimum GPA of 3.00 (3.50 preferred), knowledge of relational databases, exposure to statistical software like SAS or R, experience with Generative AI Products, and basic knowledge of compliance and accounting standards.
