What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare Journal Entries: Accurately prepare and process journal entries for financial transactions.
• Reconcile Accounts: Conduct thorough bank and account reconciliations, resolving any discrepancies.
• Generate Reports: Produce financial reports and meticulously review financial statements.
• Manage Tax and Budgets: Prepare sales tax reporting and maintain, input, and reconcile payroll and operating budgets.
• Support Financial Audits: Provide assistance during the annual financial audit process.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree is a fundamental requirement, specifically needing at least 12 hours of accounting coursework or demonstrably related work experience to ensure a solid foundational understanding of financial principles.
• Experience: Candidates should possess 0-2 years of professional accounting experience, indicating this role is suitable for early-career professionals ready to grow within a large health system. The ability to work overtime as needed is also a requirement.
• Skills: Essential skills include the ability to type at least 50 words per minute, strong computer literacy encompassing proficiency in Excel and word processing applications, and accurate ten key by touch skills. The role demands a detail-oriented individual with excellent oral and written communication abilities, coupled with a flexible and adaptable approach to work schedules and changes. Problem-solving skills are also crucial for success in this position.
• Bonus: Prior hospital accounting experience is preferred but not strictly required, offering a distinct advantage. Additionally, experience with report writer tools would be helpful in managing and extracting financial data efficiently.
