Staff Accountant | Soni

The Tone:
This is an early-career Staff Accountant role at Soni, designed to support the day-to-day financial operations of the organization. This position offers a motivated and detail-oriented professional an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to transactional accounting, reconciliations, and the month-end close process. You will work closely alongside an experienced finance team, contributing to the accurate and efficient functioning of Soni’s financial records.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage accounts payable and receivable operations, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
• Ensure accuracy and proper approval of invoices, receipts, and related financial documentation.
• Process and accurately record financial activity into the organization’s accounting system.
• Conduct basic bank, vendor, and account reconciliations, researching discrepancies as needed.
• Contribute to the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries and supporting schedules.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level accounting professional with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or currently pursuing one, demonstrating basic knowledge of accounting concepts and financial recordkeeping.
• Experience: 0-2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance-related functions.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy; Well-organized with the ability to manage deadlines and shifting priorities; Professional communication skills for internal and external contacts; Ability to handle confidential financial information appropriately.
• Bonus: Exposure to QuickBooks or another accounting/ERP system is preferred.
