Staff Accountant | Curative

The Tone:
This is a full-time on-site role at Curative, located in Austin, TX. Curative is building the future of health insurance with an employer-based plan designed to remove financial barriers and make care truly accessible. This role contributes to the financial operations of a rapidly scaling health insurance organization, ensuring proper controls and supporting accurate financial reporting as the company transforms healthcare. • Mission: This person will perform a variety of generalized accounting tasks, including reconciliation, day-to-day operations, monthly and year-end tasks, and obligation tracking to assist in the preparation of financial statements.
• Tech Stack: NetSuite ERP, Microsoft Office (Excel, including pivot tables, v-lookups, match)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Internal Controls: Ensure proper internal controls and provide support to other company departments, particularly concerning payables.
• Accounts Payable Management: Handle accounts payable for multiple related entities and vendors, ensuring proper coding for accurate financial statements.
• Reconciliation: Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
• Journal Entries: Record month-end and year-end accruals, along with other accounts payable related journal entries.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare analyses of accounts and produce monthly reports.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree (3.0 GPA or greater) from a four-year college or university in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. This is an entry-level role.
• Experience: No specific prior professional experience required, as this is an entry-level position.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel functions like pivot tables, v-lookups, and match; excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration; and superior time management and prioritization skills.
• Bonus: Prior experience with the NetSuite ERP system is a plus, as is a willingness to learn and grow with the company.
