Manager – Trade Ops – Exports.COE Pak – FTC – Exports.Operations Group-PAKCOE | Mashreq

The Tone:
This is a full-time contract role at Mashreq, located in Pakistan. Mashreq is a financial institution providing banking services across various business segments. This role is critical for managing the complete lifecycle of export, import, and issuance operations, ensuring strict adherence to internal policies and international guidelines while mitigating associated risks effectively. The incumbent will play a key role in maintaining operational excellence and customer satisfaction within the Trade Finance domain.

What You’ll Actually Do
Transaction Oversight: Manage the end-to-end processing of export, import, and issuance transactions, including all related sub-products and communications.
Compliance & Risk Adherence: Ensure all operations strictly follow the Bank’s internal policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and relevant ICC guidelines, while implementing and monitoring adequate risk and control measures.
Customer Consultation: Provide expert advice and consultation to commercial customers regarding Export Finance, Export Payments, Document Checking, Letter of Credit Advising/Confirmation/Transfer, Collections, and Risk Participation.
Procedural Development & Review: Offer advice and consultation to the Product Development Team concerning Trade Finance activities, ensuring alignment with international practices, ICC Publications, OPM, APPM, and local rules and regulations.
Quality Control & Reconciliation: Exercise due diligence in checking applications, especially for priority customers and high-value transactions, perform sanction checks on relevant parties, manage Commodity Trade Operations documents, and ensure no unattended reconciliation entries are pending daily in Nostro or internal accounts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Graduate with a thorough and in-depth understanding of Trade Finance products and functions.
• Experience: Minimum of 9-12 years’ experience specifically in Trade Finance.
• Skills: In-depth Trade Finance product knowledge; thorough understanding of Swift, Trade Finance, and Financial Operating Systems; strong communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel/PPT); strong analytical skills; attentive to details; able to work under pressure; excellent organizational skills; and a good team player.
• Bonus: CDCS/CITF/CTFP certified.
