The Tone:
This is a full-time role at a rapidly growing distribution company, located near BWI. The Junior Accountant will provide essential support to a collaborative VP Finance, playing a hands-on role in accounting, accounts payable, and various executive projects. This position is critical for ensuring accurate and consistent financial operations, contributing to the team’s focus on doing things the right way within a busy distribution/manufacturing environment, and directly impacts the company’s financial health and operational efficiency. The team is collaborative, direct, and focused.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable Processing: Accurately and consistently process accounts payable transactions.
• Invoice Reconciliation: Match purchase orders to invoices and resolve any identified variances.
• Vendor Management: Handle communications and follow-up with vendors to ensure smooth operations.
• Accounts Receivable Support: Provide light assistance with accounts receivable tasks, primarily focusing on communication.
• Process Improvement: Ask insightful questions, identify issues, and actively contribute to improving financial processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business. This is an entry-level career position.
• Experience: 1–3 years of accounting experience, with a preferred focus on accounts payable. Demonstrated ability to process high volumes of information.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, clear communication across teams, and the ability to learn quickly in a structured, task-oriented environment.
• Bonus: QuickBooks experience is highly preferred.
