The Tone:

• Mission: To develop a broad, comprehensive knowledge of the business and gain the skills and experience needed to prepare for future leadership roles in manufacturing operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
Development Assignments: Execute manufacturing competency and career development assignments as outlined in the two-year Management Trainee Plan to build foundational knowledge.
Rotational Learning: Engage in structured six-month rotational assignments across three different manufacturing plants within the Western Oregon Region, and a six-month assignment with Industrial Engineers in the Boise Improvement Cycle (BIC) department, to gain an in-depth understanding of company operations.
Leadership Shadowing: Job shadow assigned plant leadership positions to observe and learn critical roles, responsibilities, and operational strategies within the manufacturing environment.
Supervisory Experience: Work directly as a Shift Supervisor on various shifts, as needed at each assigned plant location, to acquire practical manufacturing and leadership experience.
Cross-functional Exposure: Attend learning sessions with department managers to gain exposure to key business functions including BIC, quality control, log procurement, accounting, safety, environmental, IT, engineering, and HR, contributing to a holistic understanding of company operations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or technical degree preferred in business administration, engineering, forestry, or wood science, or equivalent work experience in a related job function.
• Experience: A minimum of two (2) years’ experience is required in a Lead or Supervisor role or capacity.
• Skills: Demonstrated strong business acumen, leadership acumen, partnership-building, continuous learning, and effective planning and organizing skills.
• Bonus: Five (5) years’ experience in a Lead or Supervisor role/capacity; experience in manufacturing or wood products working in a plant environment; willingness to work flexible schedules and travel to multiple worksite locations in Medford and White City Oregon.
