The Tone:
This is a full-time role at HF Sinclair, an independent energy company headquartered in Dallas, Texas. The company produces and markets high-value light products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, renewable diesel, lubricants, and specialty products, operating refineries across several states. This Accountant role is crucial for supporting the company’s financial operations by conducting and monitoring basic to moderately complex accounting and treasury assignments. The position helps ensure financial accuracy and compliance with internal policies, contributing to the overall integrity of the company’s financial reporting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare and Distribute Reports: Generate and circulate various accounting statements and reports as required.
• Maintain Financial Data: Regularly review, update, and manage financial files and data, incorporating new information as assigned.
• Support Project Execution: Assist in the gathering, analysis, and interpretation of data for various assigned projects.
• Address Inquiries & Audits: Respond to basic to moderately complex inquiries related to assigned duties, company rules, and policies, and conduct routine audits.
• Ensure Compliance: Support various assigned accounting activities and ensure adherence to the Accounting department’s policies and procedures.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with an entry-level understanding of accounting practices and procedures.
• Experience: None typically required, with up to one year of job experience potentially required based on location.
• Skills: Basic ability to perform accounting analysis, basic knowledge of Microsoft products, basic experience with accounting and maintenance software, and the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Bonus: Experience in revenue accounting, accounts payable, SAP FI/CO, SAP BI, and Coupa is preferred.
