Financial Accountant | East West Hospitality

This Financial Accountant position is crucial for building an accounting career within the company, offering hands-on experience across the full accounting cycle. The role supports a diverse portfolio of community associations and multifamily properties, contributing to accurate financial management.

• Pay: $60000–$68000 annually
• Team: Greater Charleston Regional Accounting Team, reports to Regional Controller
• Mission: Support the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of community associations and multifamily properties, ensuring accurate financial records and timely reporting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage: Support the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of community associations and multifamily residential properties.
• Maintain: Maintain accurate general ledgers and financial records across multiple properties and entities.
• Process: Support accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, allocations, deposits, and receivables.
• Reconcile: Prepare monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and research accounting discrepancies.
• Generate: Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and budget-to-actual reports.
• Assist: Assist with month-end close activities, annual audits, reviews, and tax preparation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; suitable for an early-career professional or recent graduate.
• Experience: 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or property accounting experience preferred; recent graduates with relevant coursework or internship experience are encouraged.
• Skills: Strong Excel skills; working knowledge of accounting principles and general ledger accounting; experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation; strong organization, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Bonus: Experience with community association, HOA, condominium, apartment, or multifamily accounting is a plus.
