Accounting Associate | Inszone Insurance Services

The Tone:
This is a full-time, non-exempt role at Inszone Insurance Services, located in Lakewood, CA. Inszone is a growing organization seeking an individual to build a strong foundation in accounting operations. This role is crucial for gaining hands-on experience with financial data and supporting the accounting team’s daily functions. It provides an opportunity to grow into a more independent role over time within a supportive environment.

• Mission: Ensure accurate and timely financial data processing, reconciliations, and reporting to support core accounting operations.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, accounting software (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Acumatica)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Record: Assist with recording journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.
• Enter: Accurately and efficiently enter, sort, and organize financial data.
• Reconcile: Perform basic account reconciliations, comparing transactions and balances to identify and research discrepancies.
• Support: Contribute to month-end close processes by completing assigned tasks accurately and on time.
• Track: Manage multiple ongoing tasks, deadlines, and follow-up items effectively.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Basic accounting knowledge, including an understanding of GAAP.
• Experience: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data entry, sorting/filtering, basic formulas (SUM, IF, LOOKUP, VLOOKUP), and PivotTables. Demonstrated reconciliation skills.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent organization and time-management skills, and effective communication skills for flagging information and asking questions.
• Bonus: An Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently pursuing one) is preferred. Familiarity with accounting software such as SAP, NetSuite, or Acumatica is a plus.
