Staff Accountant | Teal, Becker & Chiaramonte CPAs

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Teal, Becker & Chiaramonte CPAs, located in an office environment which may require travel or alternate work schedules based on client needs. Teal, Becker & Chiaramonte CPAs assists privately held businesses, not-for-profit organizations, governmental entities, employee benefit plans, and individuals with accounting, auditing, tax, and consulting services. This role is crucial for delivering essential accounting, auditing, and tax services, supporting clients and internal teams, and contributing to the firm’s overall service delivery and client satisfaction. The position involves completing routine accounting and tax-related assignments under supervision, making it a foundational role within the firm.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Engagements: Perform fieldwork procedures in accounting and auditing engagements, including client inquiry, analytics, and testing.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements for various entities.
• Tax Services: Draft federal and state income tax returns for corporate, individual, partnership, fiduciary, trusts, estates, and non-profits, as well as any other necessary governmental filings.
• Accounting Functions: Execute basic accounting tasks such as bookkeeping and reconciliations.
• Professional Development: Participate in firm-directed continuing professional education (CPE), on-the-job training, networking, and contribute to in-house special projects and committees.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a closely related field. Entry-Level. Candidates should possess basic knowledge of accounting concepts and be on the CPA career track with 150 relevant credit hours required for the CPA Exam.
• Experience: Efficient knowledge of Excel is required. Client contact is a component of the role, necessitating effective communication with client employees and members of a client’s management.
• Skills: Strong computer skills, effective communication, interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, attention to detail, and a desire to learn. Must be able to excel in a deadline-driven environment and handle confidential information with integrity.
• Bonus: A Master of Science in Taxation (MST), Master of Science in Accounting (MSA), or other industry-related graduate degree is preferred. Significant efforts towards obtaining a CPA certificate will be required if necessary.
