Tax Accountant | Outcomes®
The Tone:
This is an entry-level role at Outcomes®, supporting federal, state, and local tax compliance activities. The Tax Accountant gathers financial information, prepares tax workpapers, and assists with filings and payments. This position is vital for ensuring accurate tax compliance and maintaining organized tax records, contributing directly to the company’s financial operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Gathering & Reconciliation: Gather, organize, and reconcile all necessary financial information required for federal, state, and local tax compliance activities.
• Tax Filing Assistance: Assist senior team members and external tax advisors directly with the preparation of various tax filings, including income, franchise, property, sales and use, and other tax types.
• Workpaper & Payment Management: Prepare routine tax workpapers, schedules, and account reconciliations, along with supporting documentation using established procedures; assist with calculations for estimated and extension tax payments and process approved payments.
• Records & Calendar Maintenance: Maintain comprehensive tax calendars, due-date trackers, physical files, and electronic documentation to ensure all tax-related records are current and accessible.
• Support & Development: Research routine tax questions and summarize findings, assist with responses to tax notices, and contribute to tax-related accounting activities, audits, and process improvements as assigned, while maintaining current knowledge of relevant practices.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field, demonstrating a foundational knowledge of accounting principles and a clear interest in corporate taxation.
• Experience: 1-2 years of professional experience in accounting or tax roles, applying practical knowledge in a corporate environment.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational abilities, and a proven capacity to meet deadlines consistently. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, including basic formulas, sorting, filtering, and data organization, alongside clear written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to learn.
• Bonus: Prior experience utilizing NetSuite or specialized tax preparation software.
