The Tone:
This is a full-time role at R.C. Moore, Inc., located in Portland, ME. R.C. Moore, Inc. is a leading third-party logistics (3PL) company involved in trucking, warehousing, and brokerage, supporting food and beverage providers with a national network. This role is crucial for supporting daily accounting operations, including financial reporting and account reconciliations, helping to drive service excellence and add value to the business.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records and conduct daily accounting activities.
• Closing Support: Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closings.
• Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and various financial records.
• Transactional Support: Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience, with a focus on core accounting principles.
• Experience: 2+ years of accounting experience, including general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and supporting month-end close and financial reporting.
• Skills: Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles; Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office; Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Bonus: Familiarity with NetSuite or other ERP/accounting software; Industry experience in transportation, logistics, construction, or similar environments.
