Junior Accountant | Lydech

The TL;DR

• Mission: Support the accounting department with day-to-day financial transactions, reconciliations, reporting, and administrative accounting activities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Transaction Management: Accurately record and diligently maintain all financial transactions within the designated accounting system, ensuring the integrity and consistency of daily financial data.
• Accounts Operations Support: Provide essential assistance with both accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, contributing to the efficient processing of vendor invoices, payments, customer billings, and collections.
• Financial Reconciliations: Systematically prepare and meticulously review reconciliations for bank accounts, credit card statements, and various general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Month-End Close Contribution: Actively assist the accounting department with critical monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures, including the preparation of necessary schedules and supporting documentation.
• Journal Entry Processing: Prepare and accurately post various journal entries as directed by senior accounting staff, ensuring proper classification and recording of financial events in accordance with company policies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates should ideally possess an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. A foundational and clear understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and fundamental accounting theories is also required for this role.
• Experience: A minimum of two years of practical experience in an accounting role is preferred. Relevant internships or specific accounting coursework demonstrating a strong grasp of the field may also be considered to meet this experience requirement.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel is essential, alongside strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills. The role also requires good analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills for effective team collaboration.
• Bonus: Prior experience working with specialized accounting software or comprehensive ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems is considered a significant advantage for prospective candidates.
