Staff Accountant | FairSquare
The Tone:
This is a temporary position with potential for temp-to-hire at FairSquare, available in San Diego, CA, or Atlanta, GA. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, tracking the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and tax obligations. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in ensuring financial transparency and supporting the overall objectives of the accounting department.

• Mission: Prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s financial activities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Audit: And enter loan and lease information into multiple software applications.
• Generate: Reports and other sensitive information for both internal and external users.
• Coordinate: With team members on specific loan and lease-related tasks.
• Transmit: Daily loan and lease ACH and/or wires.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or another finance-related discipline, with knowledge of general financial accounting, cost accounting, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Experience: Minimum two years of experience in an office environment, demonstrating progressively responsible professional accounting competency. This includes performing daily and monthly general ledger journal entries and reconciliations, and assisting with treasury management, lines of credit, accounts receivable, accounts payable, maintaining tax records, and managing loans and lease receivables.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, accuracy with data entry and transaction processing, ability to accurately review, analyze, and verify data in a timely fashion, proficiency with Microsoft Office products, and the ability to effectively manage and maintain electronic documents ensuring confidentiality.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree in a related field is highly preferred.
