The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Wow Bao, located in Chicago (River North). Wow Bao creates bold and exciting Asian street food experiences, specializing in inventive flavors and high-quality ingredients for various channels including grocery stores, restaurants, airports, and universities. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, tracking assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and ensuring the financial health needed to support the company’s rapid growth and expansion. The Accountant will contribute directly to the organization’s commitment to innovation and excellence by upholding rigorous financial standards.

• Mission: This person owns the accurate preparation and maintenance of financial records, ensuring all financial activities are properly tracked and reported for a fast-growing omni-channel brand.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage: Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, including validating distributor deductions.
• Process: Process invoices, handle prepaid expenses, accruals, and manage employee expense reports.
• Track: Conduct monthly inventory counts and track inventory levels.
• Reconcile: Perform balance sheet reconciliations and prepare for month-end close procedures.
• Support: Assist with restaurant accounting and reporting, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support offsite events as needed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Experience: At least 1 year of experience as an Accountant or relevant internship experience.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and excellent organizational skills.
• Bonus: CPA or pursuing a CPA, experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) and/or manufacturing industry, and experience with Restaurant365.
