Corporate Accounting Intern | The Heritage Group

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage core accounting operations: Process accounts payable and receivable, perform reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and support financial reporting.
• Support audit preparation: Maintain comprehensive documentation and compile necessary audit support materials.
• Drive process improvement: Leverage automation and AI tools to enhance efficiency within accounting processes.
• Develop procedural clarity: Document operational accounting processes and internal controls.
• Enhance financial insights: Build reporting functionality across Corporate Finance in collaboration with other teams.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Rising Junior or Senior in an undergraduate degree program (preference for Accounting, Finance, or related business field) at an accredited institution; must understand basic accounting principles and financial statements.
• Experience: Entry-level professional eager to gain hands-on experience in corporate accounting.
• Skills: Proficiency in Excel and financial software, including formulas, spreadsheets, and data organization; demonstrated understanding of basic accounting principles and financial statements; strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines; effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
• Bonus: Familiarity with accounting systems or ERP software; familiarity with AI tools.
