2027 Commercial Banking Early Career Development Program | Wells Fargo

The Tone:
This is an early career development program at Wells Fargo, a large financial institution offering comprehensive credit, treasury management, and corporate and investment banking solutions to businesses. This program is crucial for developing future talent, providing broad exposure to commercial banking and its diverse career paths over two years. Participants will gain foundational credit and banking knowledge while acquiring essential business skills through on-the-job experience and formal training, preparing them for long-term careers within the company.

• Pay: $65000–$108000 yearly
• Team: Supports dedicated teams across various Commercial Banking lines of business and partners.
• Mission: To provide early career professionals with diverse experiences across Commercial Banking, developing them for a multitude of roles within Wells Fargo through a structured rotational program.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Credit Transactions: Participate in the sourcing, structuring, underwriting, and execution of low complexity multi-million-dollar credit transactions as an active member of the deal team.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct due diligence, analyze financial statements, build financial models, and determine risk ratings to prepare comprehensive memos supporting credit recommendations.
• Business Development: Leverage market, industry, and company research and analysis, along with product knowledge, to support the success of business development efforts.
• Operational Compliance: Exercise independent judgment and accountability while working with teams on various tasks, including compliance and risk management responsibilities.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate and consult with colleagues and managers to complete deliverables, resolve issues, and help deliver business initiatives, communications, and other materials to internal stakeholders and clients.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Candidates must have 6+ months of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through training, military experience, or education. They must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree with an expected graduation date between December 2026 or May/June 2027, with all majors welcome.
• Experience: Demonstrated knowledge, interest, and/or experience in finance, accounting, and sales.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy, intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) skills, and familiarity with AI-powered productivity tools.
• Bonus: Involvement in extracurricular enrichment activities (volunteerism, student organization, study abroad, leadership positions, non-profit involvement), excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a collaborative environment.
