Private Markets Strategist | Neuberger Berman

The Tone:
This is a Hybrid role at Neuberger Berman, supporting the Wealth Investment Strategy Group. Neuberger Wealth manages approximately $81 billion in assets for individuals, families, and institutions, offering comprehensive portfolio solutions, including strategic and tactical asset allocation models. This role is a key contributor, integrating private markets exposure into multi-asset class portfolios through rigorous analysis, insights, and client deliverables. The strategist serves as a subject matter expert on Neuberger’s private markets platform, understanding strategies across private equity, private credit, and real assets, and their role in diversified allocations.

• Pay: $210000–$255000 yearly
• Team: Wealth Investment Strategy Group
• Mission: Integrate private markets exposure into multi-asset class portfolios and provide expert guidance to clients and internal partners.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Preqin, Pitchbook, AI tools (working knowledge preferred)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Increase client private market exposure by partnering with Wealth Advisors and Relationship Managers to support fundraising efforts.
• Develop holistic guidance for integrating private market strategies into client portfolios, considering return objectives, risk, liquidity, and tax for diverse client types.
• Manage J-curve exposure and maintain private markets allocation using liquidity budgeting and commitment pacing models, including cash flow forecasting.
• Act as a subject matter expert on Neuberger’s private market strategies, covering risk/return drivers, vintage-year dynamics, market positioning, and emerging trends.
• Present to diverse client groups and drive advisor engagement by creating compelling client-facing and internal content such as presentations, market updates, and whitepapers.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree with 7-10+ years of industry experience in financial markets, investment research, or wealth management. Strong understanding of public and private markets, asset allocation, and portfolio construction is required.
• Experience: Direct experience in portfolio implementation for individual high net worth, ultra-high net worth, family office, and institutional clients.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, exceptional attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
• Bonus: MBA, CFA, CAIA, Series 7 and 66 exams, and/or working knowledge of current AI tools preferred.
