The Tone:
This is a part-time position at a growing safety training, consulting, and equipment management company. While day-to-day operations are based in Owings Mills, this role can be fully remote for candidates located in the Greater Philadelphia area. This Accountant role is crucial for supporting the company’s financial operations by maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth day-to-day financial processes for a mission-driven organization focused on workplace safety.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Record Management: Process invoices and diligently maintain accurate accounting records for all transactions.
• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements to ensure financial data integrity.
• Cash Flow Oversight: Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including following up on outstanding invoices and coordinating vendor onboarding.
• Payroll Assistance: Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reporting, along with supporting the reconciliation of employee benefits.
• Financial Analysis & Reporting: Support monthly and year-end financial reporting, prepare budget-to-actual variance analyses, and assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance support.
• Experience: Comfortable managing a broad range of responsibilities within a fast-paced small business environment with evolving priorities.
• Skills: Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel, strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Bonus: Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, with an interest in broad exposure to accounting and operational functions and long-term growth potential.
