The Tone:
This is a full-time role at a reputable Multifamily Commercial Construction Business, located in Marietta, GA, specifically near Marietta Square. The company, established in 2003, specializes in building multi-family and senior residential projects throughout the Southeast. They provide comprehensive design and construction management services for various residential and commercial contracting needs. As an Accounting Manager / Bookkeeper, this position is crucial for maintaining the financial health of the organization by overseeing essential accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, and upholding compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger Management: Maintain and manage all general ledger entries, including journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Construction Draws: Take primary responsibility for managing all construction draws, processing them accurately and on time to support project progression.
• Financial Transactions & Reconciliation: Accurately and promptly process all accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, and reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts.
• Job Costing & Reporting: Perform detailed job cost tracking and allocation using Timberline (Sage 300) software, and assist in preparing financial statements, budgets, and reports for management review.
• Compliance & Closing: Support monthly and year-end close processes, and maintain records to ensure full compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, coupled with a strong understanding of job costing and construction-related accounting principles.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in construction accounting or bookkeeping, including mandatory experience working with Construction Draws.
• Skills: Proficiency in Timberline (Sage 300) software, strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (particularly Excel), excellent attention to detail, and strong organizational capabilities.
