ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT | EVI DISTRIBUTION, INC.

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at EVI DISTRIBUTION, INC. The Accounting Assistant position is a fundamental part of the company’s financial operations. This role is crucial for supporting the finance department by managing transactional processes and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The individual in this position will be integral to daily financial workflows, contributing to precise record-keeping and timely reporting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable Management: Systematically process all accounts payable vouchers, which includes the precise preparation of vendor checks and the generation of BIR 2307 forms to ensure compliance with tax withholding requirements.
• Financial Recordkeeping: Diligently prepare all corresponding journal entries, accurately recording various financial transactions to maintain comprehensive and up-to-date accounting records.
• Expense Allocation: Responsibly analyze and accurately change expenses, ensuring they are correctly assigned to the proper general ledger accounts and cost centers for accurate financial analysis and reporting.
• Tax Reporting Compliance: Proactively prepare the necessary monthly input VAT and expanded withholding tax computations, ensuring timely and accurate submission for statutory BIR reporting obligations.
• Advance Monitoring: Continuously monitor all outstanding employee advances and meticulously oversee their liquidation process. This includes the preparation of debit memos for proper integration into payroll deductions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must hold a college degree in Business Accountancy or possess an equivalent academic qualification, providing a solid theoretical foundation for this early career position.
• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of practical experience in any accountancy position is essential. This experience should ideally include a background in utilizing an automated accounting or financial system, demonstrating readiness to adapt to modern financial tools.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, is required for daily operational tasks. Furthermore, the role demands average written communication skills for clear documentation, verbal communication skills for effective interaction, and interpersonal skills to collaborate within the team and with external parties.
