PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT | Renters Warehouse

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Renters Warehouse, located in the office. RENOSY by Renters Warehouse is a technology-enabled platform providing property management services, primarily focused on single-family rental homes and small residential portfolios across the United States. This position is integral to the property accounting department, where the individual will manage financial transactions, communicate directly with property owners, and ensure the accuracy of accounting statements and ledgers. The role supports the company’s commitment to efficient and transparent property financial management for its clients.

What You’ll Actually Do
Manage Property Finances: Oversee the daily deposit of electronic funds received, manage the payment of property-related expenses, and facilitate timely disbursements to property owners.
Owner Communication & Reporting: Prepare and send accounting statements, and respond to owner inquiries about ledgers and accounts via phone and email, demonstrating a clear understanding of transaction flows.
Payment System Management: Monitor and oversee the electronic payment system, including sending and receiving payments, as well as accurately updating account information as needed.
Accounting Support: Assist with account reconciliations, the preparation of year-end accounting and financial statements, and the collection of required tax information and documentation.
Lease-End Accounting: Process security deposit transfers and review move-out accounting details for properties.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from a 2- or 4-year college in a relevant field such as accounting or business administration, positioning this role at an early career level.
• Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a customer service role, an accounting role, or a closely related financial field, demonstrating practical application of accounting principles or strong client interaction.
• Skills: Strong knowledge and proficiency in computer technology, including cloud-based management software and applications. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), excellent communication skills for providing exceptional customer service, and the ability to self-manage and problem-solve effectively.
• Bonus: An organized approach to managing multiple priorities, the ability to successfully use negotiation skills to diffuse difficult situations, and a consistent demonstration of honesty, trustworthiness, and accountability in all interactions.
