Corporate Tax Accountant I | Glacier Bancorp, Inc.

The Tone:
This is a corporate position at Glacier Bancorp, Inc., which may be located at an available bank division location across its nine-state footprint in AZ, CO, ID, MT, NV, TX, UT, WA, or WY. As a Tax Accountant I, you will play a crucial role within the Finance and Accounting department, assisting the Tax Manager with the organization’s tax practices and procedures. This position is vital for ensuring accurate and timely compliance with a wide range of tax requirements, from sales and use taxes to federal and state income taxes. You will contribute to tax planning efforts, provide essential support to corporate and division personnel, and help maintain the company’s strong financial integrity.

• Pay: $57400–$95200 yearly
• Team: Reports to the Tax Manager within the Finance and Accounting department.
• Mission: To assist with the organization’s diverse tax practices, procedures, and reporting requirements, ensuring compliance and supporting tax planning initiatives.
• Tech Stack: Corptax, PTMS, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Silverlake operating systems of Jack Henry and Associates vendor.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Sales & Use Tax: Process and manage state and local sales and use tax compliance for Bank Divisions, including preparing and filing returns using Corptax software.
• Property Tax: Coordinate and assist with the preparation, review, and submission of property tax declarations for assigned jurisdictions and process payments within the PTMS system.
• Income Tax: Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax provision and reporting processes, including preparing supporting workpapers and compiling information.
• Documentation & Projects: Draft tax manuals and procedures for various job duties and independently manage assigned accounting projects.
• Strategic Support: Provide assistance on diverse tax-related projects for the Tax Manager and Chief Accounting Officer.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business with an Accounting major is required; an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience will not be considered. This is an early career role.
• Experience: 1 year of experience in the tax and/or banking industry is required, alongside advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Skills: Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision; a keen eye for detail and accuracy in all work; capacity to analyze data, trends, and insights to inform recommendations; capable of interacting calmly and professionally with a variety of people; trustworthy, discreet, and diplomatic.
• Bonus: Knowledge of tax activities, internal controls, reconciliation procedures, and applicable State and Federal tax regulations; public company work experience; experience with bank-related taxes; beginner experience with Silverlake operating systems; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
