Specialist, Accounting & Controllership | Carrier
The Tone:
This is a full-time hybrid role at Carrier, a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week. Carrier creates innovations that bring comfort, safety, and sustainability to life through advancements in temperature control, air quality, and transportation. This role is vital for ensuring smooth business operations and that all accounting and reporting within the Carrier Commercial Services (CCS) division are timely and accurate. The Specialist will support crucial financial processes and contribute to the overall financial health and compliance of the organization.

• Mission: To ensure smooth business operations and timely, accurate accounting and reporting for the CCS division.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Support the month-end closing and reporting processes to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
• Account Management: Complete timely account reconciliations, manage sales incentive accounting, and oversee key reserves including Warranty, EAC loss, and Net Asset Exposure.
• Revenue Operations: Provide oversight for project accounting and ensure appropriate revenue recognition standards are applied.
• Compliance & Analysis: Assist with month-over-month and year-to-date flux analysis, regulatory reporting, and uphold SOX compliance and internal controls.
• Process Improvement: Maintain standard work documentation for accounting processes and procedures, and participate in finance and digital projects for system enhancements.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business field, with 4+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Experience: 2+ years of advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, along with practical experience in percentage-of-completion accounting (ASC 606 revenue recognition).
• Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP standards, internal control frameworks (SOX compliance), strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and project management skills.
• Bonus: Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA, background in public accounting or a manufacturing/industrial environment, hands-on proficiency with SAP S/4HANA ERP, and experience utilizing financial automation and process-improvement tools.
