Procurement Analyst | General Dynamics Information Technology

The Tone:
This is a regular full-time role at General Dynamics Information Technology, located in Springfield, VA. GDIT supports the DoW intelligence community by providing cutting-edge systems for information sharing on current and emerging global threats. This role is crucial for maintaining a large network by managing enterprise procurement processes, specifically focusing on software and hardware assets to ensure compliance and operational continuity for warfighter missions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage Software Assets: Maintain software licensing and media throughout the enterprise, ensuring accurate, up-to-date, and auditable records in asset repositories and OEM portals.
• Coordinate Renewals: Track and determine software and hardware maintenance renewals, identifying them 180 days before expiration, validating with technical SMEs, and coordinating with responsible bill payers.
• Ensure Compliance: Audit software inventory using discovery tools and asset repositories to ensure compliance with software entitlements and compile audit findings for leadership.
• Optimize Procurement: Proactively analyze software data and trends to identify best value in cost, licensing, maintenance, and service offerings.
• Streamline Processes: Create, educate, and streamline Software Asset Management (SAM) processes and operational procedures across the enterprise.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Mid-level professional with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in logistics or a related field, possessing strong analytical, communication, and self-starting capabilities. Must hold an active Secret security clearance.
• Experience: 3+ years of related logistics and work experience, specifically managing software assets using ServiceNow’s SAM application, including discovery, inventory, license management, reconciliation, fulfillment, and understanding various license types.
• Skills: Software Asset Management (SAM), Software Licensing, Sourcing and Procurement, strong written and verbal communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, understanding of SAM integration with ITSM and CMDB.
• Bonus: Experience with Enterprise Licensing Agreements (ELAs) and EULAs, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, experience with change and configuration management, familiarity with Microsoft, Cisco, and Adobe JELAs, ITIL Foundations v4 Certificate, experience with SC360, Accounting Systems, and SharePoint.
