General Accountant | Marriott International

This is a Non-Management, Full-Time role at Marriott International, located in Greensboro, Georgia, specifically supporting a Ritz-Carlton property. • Mission: Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records and cash handling processes to support efficient hotel operations.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Accuracy & Verification: Scrutinize figures, postings, and various financial documents to ensure complete accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
• Record Management: Organize, secure, and diligently maintain all financial files, records, and cash or cash equivalents in strict accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Data Processing: Classify, code, and summarize numerical and financial data, utilizing journals, ledgers, and computer systems to compile and meticulously keep financial records.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare, maintain, audit, and distribute a range of statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports and tables, including completion of specified period-end closing procedures.
• Accounts & Invoicing: Prepare, review, reconcile, and issue customer bills, vendor invoices, and account statements according to company guidelines, actively following up to resolve past due accounts until payment is complete.
• Cash Handling: Prepare daily consolidated deposits for all cash received by various cash handling employees, and accurately document, maintain, communicate, and act upon any detected Cash Variances.
• Cashier Administration: Prepare, maintain, and administer all individual cashier banks and their associated contracts, ensuring proper accountability and control.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level professional with a foundational understanding of accounting principles, supported by a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Experience: At least 1 year of hands-on related work experience in a finance or accounting capacity. This role does not require prior supervisory experience.
• Skills: Meticulous attention to detail for financial accuracy; strong organizational skills for record-keeping; proficiency in classifying and summarizing financial data; experience with preparing and reconciling financial reports and statements; ability to manage and reconcile cash transactions and administer cashier banks; effective communication for resolving account issues.
