Finance Student Program – Corporate | Stellantis

The Tone:
This is a year-round, part-time student program at Stellantis, offering in-person, hybrid, or remote work options within the United States. Students based in the Metro-Detroit area are welcome to work out of the Stellantis Headquarters and Technology Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan, although this is not mandatory. Stellantis is a global automotive company, and this unique program provides a continuous alternative to traditional summer internships, allowing students to integrate deeply into their teams. The role matters significantly as it empowers students to apply classroom learning in real-world settings daily, take on increasing levels of responsibility within a corporate finance division, and make meaningful contributions throughout their academic journey.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Part-time (24 hours/week, year-round; potential 40 hours/week in summer)
• Location: Hybrid – Auburn Hills, MI (or Remote in US)
• Team: Corporate Finance (assigned to one of several divisions)
• Mission: Support a Corporate Finance division by completing project assignments and day-to-day activities, applying coursework to drive results within the department.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Provide accounting or finance assistance to operating and finance teams across various projects and daily tasks.
• Assist: Support monthly close or forecast activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Ensure: Maintain compliance with internal controls within your assigned area, upholding financial integrity.
• Analyze: Perform financial analysis, reporting, and specialized studies as required by the team.
• Improve: Drive continuous process improvements and manage projects aimed at enhancing departmental efficiency and effectiveness.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher majoring in Finance, Accounting, or a similar business discipline from an accredited college or university. Candidates must be a Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior at an accredited university at the time of hire to qualify for this program.
• Experience: A consistent ability to work 24 hours per week on a year-round basis is required. Candidates will collaborate with their manager to determine a consistent weekly work schedule that fulfills the hour requirement while balancing their class schedule. During summer months (May through August), students may have the opportunity to work 40 hours per week, subject to management discretion.
• Skills: High proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, including advanced use of Excel for data analysis, Access for database management, PowerPoint for presentations, and Word for documentation.
• Bonus:
– Previous internship or any accounting/finance related work experience.
– A good working knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, methods, and techniques.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills, crucial for interfacing with various levels within Finance and other departments.
– A strong interest in the automotive industry and its new technologies.
– Proven capability of working effectively both independently and as an integral part of a team.
– Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various organizational levels and with external partners.
