What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Support: Perform basic balance sheet tie-outs and complete client write-ups, ensuring foundational financial records are accurate and well-prepared.
• Audit Procedures: Execute audit procedures on foundational and less complex engagements, which includes determining appropriate sample selection and demonstrating a general understanding of audit skepticism.
• Documentation & Reporting: Prepare neat, complete, and organized workpapers utilizing the firm’s technology and accurately draft final financial statements ready for senior review.
• Compliance & Ethics: Apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), auditing standards, and internal accounting controls, while also possessing a thorough understanding of the rules, regulations, and code of ethics outlined by the AICPA and the Texas Society of CPA’s.
• Communication & Collaboration: Identify and communicate potential matters of inclusion for highlights memoranda or management communication directly to senior team members, supporting proactive client care.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, preparing for an early-career role in assurance services.
• Experience: 0-3+ years of experience in auditing services.
• Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; meticulous attention to detail with an analytical mindset.
• Bonus: Knowledge of auditing practices and procedures; prior experience working in a professional office environment.
